Rainy Days

Sometimes in West Texas it actually does rain contrary to what we have experienced in the last five years. One of our tournaments at Graham this spring took place as rain poured down all around us. It didn't matter that we wore the best rain suits we could find; the water always seemed to find a way into our dry clothing.

For many people the rain and getting wet puts them into a foul mood as the unexpected weather causes them to change or cancel their plans and activities for the day. Many fishermen don't like the rain at all, but some of the best fishing can happen during a downpour. Visibility is cut down for the fish and the darkened skies and low light conditions make the bass less spooky. Often the falling barometric pressure accompanying rain increases the bass's strike zone and feeding activity. Unfortunately many fishermen leave the water just when the most satisfying results can happen.

we tell others of our faith in Him in the midst of storms and turmoil, we feel nothing good can result. Fortunately He has equipped us to make our witness work in all conditions: both sunshine and rain. We need not leave the water and quit fishing when the rain clouds begin to move in. He is with us always as unexpected results happen when He is in charge in the midst of storms. "When thunder and lightning abound all around us and the Devil throws up obstacles to a successful witness, just remember: that's when the catch can be the best!"
